Focus and Scope

Opening Writing Doors Journal ( OWDJ), an official journal of the Research Group in Foreign Languages-GRILEX[i]-, is an open-access journal published twice a year (July and December) by the Bachelor of Arts in Foreign Languages- English-French at the Universidad de Pamplona, Colombia. OWDJ publishes current, completed and in progress research on teaching and learning foreign languages issues. OWDJ also publishes reviews, critiques and articles on other varied areas such as: poetry, short reflections, descriptions and personal insights based on everyday experiences on foreign language classrooms. Accordingly, Opening Writing Doors Journal welcomes papers from authors at all levels: elementary and secondary school teachers, higher education professors and students.

Peer Review Process

Opening Writing Doors Journal is committed to publish high quality papers. In doing so, all submissions go through a blind-review process, as follows: first, the assistant to the editor guarantees that all the authors have met the requirements (see authors’ guidelines). Second, a member of the editorial board reviews the content of the paper. Some papers are required to be revised / reviewed before being sent to the readers. Once the papers meet the requirements are sent to two blind readers. This process may take from one to two months. Third, once the editor receives the evaluation from the readers, informs the authors whether the article is worth publishing with no modifications, worth publishing with minor modifications, worth publishing with major modifications or not worth publishing. Authors are required to submit a copy of the revised version within two to three weeks.

Opening Writing Doors Journal as an open access journal provides free access to all its content.
