World Cruise Ship Costs: Apartment Prices and Amenities

por Leoma Tunstall (2020-03-13)

id="mod_3048172">The World Cruiseship
Imagine waking up every morning in your own apartment, taking in the gorgeous sea view outside your bedroom window. Then making your way upstairs, past the library, to decide if you feel like stopping for some rooftop golf, making a trip to the spa, or working out at the gym. From there you can decide where to dine for lunch: maybe some French cuisine today? Or maybe a light, gourmet soup or sandwich? Or maybe you'll just wait until you arrive at the next exotic destination.

Sound too good to be true? Well, it isn't.

That's life about The World cruise ship. What makes this cruise ship different from your typical holiday cruise vacation is that The World is owned by its residents. People buy their apartment and can live on board or call it their holiday home.

The World has a crew of 250 people and 165 units including, studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments, as well as a six-bedroom penthouse suite. It also has a grocery store, five restaurants, a movie theater, among many other amenities.

For those seeking a daily routine that's a bit more fulfilling, there are also many classes you can take part in. Want to learn a new language? Some new cooking skills? How about some dance lessons? It's all there for you, if you want.

If this sounds intriguing, then read on to hear even more about this truly unusual and unique cruise ship.

How Much Does the World Cruise Ship Cost?
If you're looking to rent one of these rooms, one night in the studio apartment will cost you between $1300-$2300. Purchasing an apartment on board starts at $2 million, plus the annual maintenance fees which can range from $60 000 to $270 000. If you have to ask 'how much?', you probably can't afford it.

Welcome Aboard the World Cruiseship
World Cruise Ship: Dream or Reality?
It does sound great: a life of world travel, while still getting to go home at night. However, having to dress in your best for every meal in order to 'keep up with the Jones' could be quite tiring.

I do enjoy my stays in humble hostels or bed and breakfasts, with guests eager to share their cost-saving tips and share taxi rides to the nearest train station. I would much prefer to schmooze over a home-cooked meal than a fancy gourmet dinner each night, and not have to worry if my clothes are fashionable enough.

It would take a person who won the Lottery to live onboard. Asked my wife IF we ever won would she ever consider it and her answer was a 100% no! I would consider it, however I think after about 2 years the novelty would wear off and I would be looking to sell my unit and I wouldn't think they sell too fast.

I keep imagining to spend my retirement days in a cruise ship, but as I just said in a cruise ship not in a residence floating ship and I read that if you program yourself you can spend most of the year doing so at an average of less then a US$ 100,00 a day, anyone here has any idea about it? If so please not just post the answer here, but email it to me please at: mjugend@hotmail.com

Thanks to all of you,

M. Jugend

Would anyone really enjoy living on the World for any length of time? It sounds too indolent and self-indulgent to be worthwhile for more than a long vacation. Come on folks, the real world needs us to inhabit it with gusto and commitment.

I sit here now in Esperance Western Australia and i can see the World out of my window at anchor...We in the little town are privileged to see such a ship.. I can only dream of living on a ship such as this..

I hope they build a new ship by the time when I am ready to retire (20 more years). I think $2 mil only give you the right to own the suite for the life of the ship(around 30 years). By the time I am retiring, the ship is ready to retire too. Good comment Raxmaster.

I saw this at Greenwich (Debden) earlier this week.

It was moored about 2 minutes from where I live and visible from my window. It's the most fabulous vision of a ship I've ever seen.

I spent some down by time by the river in the evening just watching it (& photographing it). Little boats were circling round it, and lit up against the backdrop of Canary Wharf it was truly wonderful, as all the residents will know...

I don't think anything has captured my imagination quite as much as this has.

If I had known luxuries like this one existed I would have devoted a lot more of my life to trying to get super rich! sigh...

...so well done to you lucky people who get to live and travel on it, and, like Arthur, if any of you single male residents have everything in life but lack the female to put the cream on the cake, 안전놀이터 I'm your lovely missing lady..and free to join you.

Seeing the whole world from your balcony. Being taken to the Olympics, or the World Cup, or etc. and almost always living in the perfect season of the year. The cost even at $2 million (starting) is a bargain. What a way to reward yourself for a productive life. Me? Although I'm gainfuly employed "The World" is well beyond my reach. Perhaps some rich, lonely, female resident on "The World" will take me in.

Where did the idea come from that "The World" is huge? (the ship I mean - not the planet earth)

It's actually quite small compared to just about all modern cruise ships - particularly the "Monsters of the Seas" (AKA RCI's Oasis and Allure)

However the the living accommodations are huge - some of the apartments would swallow ten or more of the "Monsters" wee cabins.

Also they are all (have to be) furnished and decorated by some of world's (that's the planet earth this time) very top designers and furnishers. IKEA will just not do at all on the World (ship)

These things do not come cheap - and the comparison with the
