An NYPD officer has been charged with child endangerment for allegedly masturbating in front of his girlfriend's 10-year-old daughter.

Shaun Frazier, an officer with the department's building maintenance unit, was arrested on Thursday following an Internal Affairs Bureau investigation into his conduct.

According to a criminal complaint, Frazier was babysitting the girl and her five-year-old brother on September 5 while the children's mother was working a night shift as a security officer at a hospital.

Share The 10-year-old girl had gone to bed, but then woke up in the middle of the night, entered the kitchen and allegedly caught Frazier with a pair of her underwear. 

She then fled to her bedroom, as The Brooklyn Daily Eagle reported.

The 39-year-old cop then allegedly asked the girl to come into her mother's bedroom, where he was masturbating on the bed.

Frazier has been on the force since 2015, serving with the building maintenance unit. The NYPD said the 39-year-old has now been suspended pending the outcome of the case

The child again ran to her bedroom, but Frazier followed her and allegedly removed her cellphone and landline to prevent her from calling her mother.

Frazier turned himself to police early Thursday morning and was later arraigned at Brooklyn Supreme Court on a single count of endangering the welfare of a child.

He was released without bail after his lawyer successfully argued that he was not a flight risk because he has been caring for his dementia-stricken mother.

Frazier has been on the force since 2015. The NYPD said the 39-year-old has now been suspended pending the outcome of the case.

Prior to joining the NYPD, he served as a court officer. Frazier is due back in court in October
