A mischievous four-year-old boy drove his great-grandfather's SUV almost two miles to a gas station because he wanted candy.

The cute youngster, who is called Sebastian, took matters into his own hands on Tuesday morning when he had a craving for Reese's candy.

Blaine Police Department said the incident happened at 8.30 am when he took the keys of his great-grandfather's Hyundai Sante Fe and drove about a mile-and-a-half from his home to Speedway gas station in Blaine.

The boy backed the car out of the family driveway and navigated residential streets before driving on a main road to buy candy at a gas station, even though he could barely see above the wheel 

Even though he could barely see above the wheel, he managed to reverse the SUV out of the driveway and make his way on to the main road.

Sebastian managed to navigate through neighborhood streets before turning onto a busy main road during morning rush hour.

Asked where he was going, the curious boy told Fox 9 reporters: 'To the gas station because I wanted to have Reese's.'

Witnesses told police the SUV was driving erratically at speeds of 10-to-15 miles per hour before pulling into the gas station parking lot.

The boy's great-grandfather Roy Becker claimed he watches every action that he sees people doing 

Authorities were there to meet him after tracking the vehicle and no injuries were reported.

The 4-year-old had used great-grandfather's walker to grab his keys from wall hooks, and then got into the car and drove away with no one noticing.

Roy Becker, the boy's great-grandfather, told Fox 9: 'He watches everything people do and he'll repeat it.

'It could've been very serious. He could've hit a car. He wasn't wearing a seatbelt. We could be talking about a funeral.'

Curious Sebastian demonstrated how he used his great-grandfather's walker to get the keys from a hook on the wall because he couldn't reach it 

Police were waiting at Speedway gas station in Blaine, Minnesota to meet the youngster 

His mother Jenna Swenson said it took a while to figure out where he had gone and there was 'panic and anxiety' when she discovered what happened.

She explained to the news station: 'A little of almost all the emotions going on, trying to calculate what happened.'

Captain Mark Boerboom from Blaine Police Department said he had never encountered such a younger driver operating a vehicle before.

The family said they intend to keep the car keys locked away and watch Sebastian more closely to prevent a similar incident occurring in the future.

Fox 9 reporters claimed they found a part of the car's bumper in front of a neighbor's house.
