Fifth Grade Creative Writing Contest

What is the annual fifth Grade “Celebrate America” Creative Writing Contest? The American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) Southern California Chapter is a proud supporter of the American Immigration Council’s (AIC) annual “Celebrate America” inventive writing contest for fifth grade college students throughout the United States. The Chapter sponsors the local contest, which draws participation from a whole lot of fifth grade students from each non-public and public schools throughout Southern California. The creativity types of entries obtained vary from essays, to short stories and poetry. Local winners are honored an annual awards luncheon each summer time and the top winner’s entry is entered into the National Competition sponsored by the American Immigration Council where entries are reviewed by a distinguished panel together with U.S. Winning entries are to be printed in the Congressional Record. The winner and two visitors receive an all bills paid trip to The Council’s Annual Benefit Dinner the place he/she is honored and reads his/her successful entry aloud. AILA Southern California Chapter received a record breaking variety of entries from fifth graders across Los Angeles County and Orange County. All entries were extremely thoughtful, inspirational, and uniquely compelling.For this reason, it is all the time a tough job to pick only a few to win particular awards and recognition as all students deserve reward for sharing their stories and creativity.
