Not all international trade regulations are created equal, and this is especially true when it comes to trade compliance. To understand this more fully, it is important to understand the two main types of trade-compliance issues that most face when dealing with international trade, namely import and export compliance .Import compliance is the procedure in which customs officials to determine what is allowed or prohibited on a person's personal possessions when they are crossing borders. For example, goods made overseas that are imported into the United States are subjected to a strict import regulation. The Customs Regulations themselves is similar, in that they usually detail exactly what must be done to meet the requirement of importing the particular item. The customs regulations also set up an "indemnity" in which the buyer pays an amount of money when a violation is detected.
